What Abortion Involves
New Jersey has no gestational limits or mandatory waiting periods for abortion. Even so, gestational age determines which procedure applies and what to expect physically. Medical abortion uses two drugs and is FDA-approved only through 10 weeks of pregnancy. Surgical procedures use suction and/or medical instruments to remove the developing embryo or fetus from the uterus.
